ENGRAVEABLE COMMENDATION BARS
First and foremost the only commendation bars available to be engraved are commendation bars with the suffix “-LS”. If you go to the navigation bar on the left within the Web Wizard and click on Engraveable Combars you will see all available commendation bars that can be engraved.
Each section of the commendation bar is set up to take either engraved text, a symbol or both. When you go to configure these bars and you want to add a symbol or text you click on the green + sign in front of the word engraving or symbol. (see Below)
- +Engraving When you click the + in front of engraving a box appears where you can type what you would like engraved in this section. If you try to type 2019 and it restricts you – it is because the section can’t take that many characters.
- +Symbol When you click the + in front of symbol a drop down box with all available symbols appears. If you would like to see an image of the symbols click the Browse link next to the symbol drop down. Only the symbol(s) that can fit in a section will appear.
POSITION After you click engraving or symbol the option Position appears when a section is large enough to include both a symbol and text. This is where you tell us where you would like that symbol or engraving positioned within a section (left, center, right, or split).
- Split will only show for text. If you have a star in the center of the bar and you indicate 2019 to be engraved if you pick split this would mean 20 on the left of the star and 19 on the right of the star, we split the word down the middle.
ENAMEL COLOR If you want enamel color within the engraving you would pick the color under the option engraved color. You will note this is set to no color, because our default is no color (the metal showing through). You can only choose one color to go inside of engraving, and if you pick a color it will go inside all engraved items on the bar.
